– Hook number 2.5 Fiberfill
– Small piece of wire
Abbreviations

Candy cane
Start with red color yarn.
1. 6sc in mr (6)
2. (inc (white), inc (red)) x 3 (12)
On this row you should end up with 6 white and 6 red stitches.
3. (1sc, inc (white), 1sc, inc (red)) x 3 (18)
4. 1sc (red), 3sc (white), 3sc (red), 3sc (white), 3sc (red), 3sc (white), 2sc (red) (18)
This will start the swirl. Add 1 sc red over the white sc of the previous row and do the same for the white over red (just moving the colors with 1 sc forward.
In a couple of rows you will see the swirl forming.
Make sure you fill the candy cane as you go along.
5-54. 18 sc, chaning between red and white color yarn (18)
You need to cut a small piece of wire (aroud 10cm) and place is safely inside the cane.
Make sure the ends are not sharp (I add a bit of tape, hot glue or wax so it is a bit safer).
55. (1sc, dec) x 6 (12) Make sure the 1sc and dec are in the same color!
56. dec x 6 (6) When you dec make sure you dec with 2 white sc and then with 2 red sc, so the colors corespond.
Fasten off, weave in the ends.
String
Use red or white color yarn.
1. ch30, fasten off, leaving long tail before and after the chain.
Assembly
Bend the side with the wire in so it resembles a cane.
Sew the string on top of the candy cane. Place on your Christmas tree.
